For Halloween this year, I used two tactics in my social media marketing campaigns. The first was video commercials, and the other was a cartoon campaign. The first was called; The Don’t be Scared Campaign. This campaign allowed us to use the scariness of Halloween to represent the fear of buying Life Insurance. Life Insurance can be a scary thing for people to think about, so relating the fear of Life Insurance (something most people are uncomfortable with) to the fear of Halloween (something that most people look at playfully) allowed the consumer to look at Life Insurance with a more “light-hearted” outlook. In the second campaign, we used cartoons portraying the personal fears of people in our office, to initiate interaction with people on social media and start a conversation about what they fear the most.
